Camping at Lake Tahoe

This is our third year in Woodland, we only live 2 hours from Lake Tahoe and this is the first time we've been there. It was so beautiful! Trent took friday off and we went up to go camping. We stopped by the visitor center, went to some waterfalls, swam in the chilly water, had smores, played at the campground, went on one difficult hike and one nature hike. We were pretty tired by Saturday afternoon, but it was so great to be out in nature.

Talmage on our nature hike.
Trent and Teagan on our difficult hike.

Trent and Tommy taking a breather.

The views around the lake are incredible. This is just from the shore line, but when you drive around the lake you are so high up you look down and can see the whole lake.

June Vacations

I flew up to Seattle with the kids at the beginning of this month. we had so much fun visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Thomas. We roasted marshmellows, had a big family party, went swimming, visited a few parks, fed the duck at Bothell landing and played in the backyard.

Cousin Jacob feeding Tommy a graham cracker.
The kids playing the 3 little pigs at St. Edward's park.

Talmage swimming in Steve and Amy's pool.

Tommy like to swim too!

Teagan ready to go swimming in Woodland. We got a city pool pass for the summer and have gone almost everyday.

Painted our house

Our walls have been white since we moved in. It was so blah. I finally saved enough money for the paint and got enough courage to do it. Thanks to Cyndi for watching my kids and Lisa for her expert painting skills, I got it all done in one weekend. Here's a tour of the final product.

Summer is here!

Wow! May flew by. Trent plants his crops during May so he had to work every Saturday in May and long hours during the week. We didn't do much as a family. This Saturday was his first one off so we packed up the kiddos and went on a little road trip. First to a little water fall, then to a Gold Mine, next to Sutter's Mill, where gold was first discovered that inspired the gold rush in '49. Pretty cool.

The Gold bug mine in Placerville, CA. The kids thought they were actually going to find gold in the mine, they kept asking people we passed, "Where's all the gold?"
After our 15 minute hike through the gold mine.

Happy Birthday Teagan!

Teagan turned 5 today! She thought it was so great that it was her special day. Looking back over the past 5 years, I can't believe how fast it went and how much has change since parenthood. Some days Trent and I say to eachother, "What were we thinking?" Then other day's we're like, "Let's have another one!" It's been a rollercoaster ride from the beginning and somedays I feel like I'm barely hanging on, but it sure is fun! So this post is to Teagan's special day.
On Friday Teagan took 35 chocolate cupcakes to preschool for her birthday treat.
She got this crown at preschool and wore it Saturday and Sunday. She chose this pig design for her cake theme.

Talmage and Teagan love helping me make breakfast. Teagan is especially good and cracking the eggs. The birthday breakfast? crepes.

Spring has Sprung!

I love spring! Perfect weather and lots of holidays to celebrate. I think every one is happier in the spring time. Here are a few activities we've done recently.

Thomas for his one year photos.
Talmage scored at the ward easter egg hunt.

Teagan loves doing art projects.

We've been acting out the nativity story lately, It's one of Teagan favorite pretend things to do. It's pretty fun. We all have to have multiple parts, except for Teagan who directs and plays the part of Mary. Tom is usually the angel who appears to Mary and a wiseman, Talmage is Joseph and a wiseman, I do the innkeeper, the speaking parts for Tom and wiseman.
This is Teagan pretending to be Mary, she is feeding baby Jesus "apple juice" (notice the two binkies) those are Talmage's gifts for the baby, he was a wiseman.

Cache Creek Nature Hike

We went on a nature hike this past Tuesday. I love this place because there are never any other people there when we visit and it's a nice break from going to the park.

Tom just likes to crawl around in the dirt.
Teagan spotted a lizard and she is trying to show Talmage where it is.

Playing king of the Haystack.

There is a little ampitheater where the kids like to perform. Teagan is dancing to the Reading Rainbow theme. She likes to sing at the top of her voice .. Butterfly in the sky ... I can do anything... Take a look.. it's in a book... Reading Rainbow... It's hilarious..
