Talmage the Terrible

Later after lunch I am on the phone with the YW Pres talking about church business when Teagan yells from the front room, "Mom, Talmage is dirty!" I run in to find Talmage covered with black stamping ink from my stamp pad. I grab him to pick him up and starts kicking his legs, which smears black ink all across my cream colored carpet. GRRR! I promptly put him in the bath and everything he touches turns black. He soaks while I calm down, then have to clean out the carpet while fight off kids with each scrub down. ( they think that everytime I get on my hands and knees it horsey ride time.) along with these minor incidents he keeps soiling himself, even after I remind him to go (Hello, he has been potty trained for over a month !!!) I think I'm going to strangle the kid, but miraculously, he is still alive and I have to post the day so that I can look back and think, It wasn't that bad.
While I'm trying to get the ball point stains out in the back bathroom he comes in after awhile with an empty pack of gum ( the 20 stick count), "Look what I just ate mom!" Great. (At least he now has minty fresh breath)
Trent went to Fresno for Monday and Tuesday last week. We got a new exchange student from Japan that Sunday. Talmage was a terror on Tuesday, Here is a run down of my 'wonderful' day. Talmage starts off the morning yelling, 'I WANT CHICKEN NUGGETS" (this is for breakfast mind you.) I never give him chicken nuggets for breakfast but he thinks one day I will, well today he throws a tantrum, yes, He is 3 1/3, it was pretty bad. Later that morning he gets a hold of a ball point pen and scribbles all over his bed, Teagan's bed and the extra bed in Thomas's room, plus the pillow cases. This is just a small sample of his artwork.

Free museum day

We went to our favorite family friendly restaurant, the Old Spaghetti Factory. good times.

Teagan got bored wating to get into the Governor's Mansion, We had to wait for 20 minutes.

Talmage wants to be a pilot.

Tom does too.
Every year Sacramento has a day when all 27 museums are free. Last Saturday we took advantage and first went to the Aerospace museum, most of the cockpits were open for the public, which the kids loved. Then we went to the Governor's Mansion, I just took Teagan through while the boys slept in the van, then to the Stanford Mansion.

Lasik, Birthday, toothfairy and trouble

What to do on a rainy day in California... Lego Blocks! Hours of fun for everyone. These are blocks that I used to play with when I was little, my mom gave them to me last Thanksgiving and I have had them hidden in the garage until this morning. A perfect time to bust out a new toy.
Teagan lost her first tooth last night! She was very excited that the toothfairy came and left a teddy bear necklace and a silver dollar, she thinks it's a penny. (maybe next time the toothfairy will just leave a penny instead.)

When I get ready in the morning I usually keep Tom in my bedroom with me and leave Talmage and Teagan playing quietly. Well, on this particular morning it was time for Tom's nap so I put him in his crib and went to take a shower, when I came out of my room Talmage was in Tom's room taking pictures of him with my digital camera, on further investigation, I found a foam heart in Tom's mouth. (notice the purple thing in the picture)
Where did Talmage get the camera and the foam heart? On the second to top shelf in the hallway, in a basket that I thought was safe from him. Apparently I was wrong. Foam hearts are now forbidden in the house and the camera is on a higher shelf. Will this stop Talmage from getting in to mischief... probably not.

Happy 31st Birthday! Teagan and Talmage were so excited to make and wrap presents for Trent. It was a fun family party. With cheesecake from the cheesecake factory bought at Costco.

The night before Trent's Lasik surgery. It was a painful weekend for him. Poor guy. At least he can see with out galsses now.
